Photography is more than just a job for me; it’s my passion, especially when it comes to weddings. I love being more than just a photographer on your special day-I’m there as an extra set of hands to bustle your dress, a calming presence when nerves kick in, and your ultimate hype girl as you prepare to see your partner. I thrive on learning and capturing love stories authentically, ensuring that every moment is preserved in a way that reflects your unique journey together.
I first picked up a camera in middle school-a simple point-and-shoot my mom had lying around. I’d sit outside with my dog, capturing the sunlight and his watchful presence in our front yard. My grandparents soon noticed my new hobby and gifted me a more advanced camera, sparking a passion for photography that grew quickly. I photographed everything-animals, our neighbor's garden, and dreamed of becoming a National Geographic photographer.
As I began taking portraits of friends and families, I realized this was something I loved and excelled at. After some photography classes in high school, I entered college undecided, but photography had always been my safe haven. So, I majored in Fine Art Photography at James Madison University, immersing myself in film photography and various artistic disciplines.
During my sophomore year, I discovered wedding photography and knew I could turn it into a career. I interned with a local wedding photographer, gaining invaluable experience at beautiful weddings in the DC area. After my first wedding, I texted a friend, saying, “I just found what I want to do for the rest of my life.” Now, seven years later, I’m proud to have my own wedding and portrait business, loving every moment of it.
