It Started With a ‘Poke’

These high school sweethearts met through Facebook. Funny enough, they attended the same school and had never met until the good old Facebook ‘Poke’. Sarah and Thomas defied the odds and dated through high school. They then did long distance for five years while attending university and playing sports, knocking down yet another barrier. Then in November of 2017, Thomas got down on one knee at Laguna Beach, California and asked Sarah to be his wife. You can read the full story here!

High School Sweethearts Turned Bride and Groom

Sarah reached out to me after they got engaged because of a recommendation from a mutual friend. I mentioned I went to high school with these two, right? After some planning, we shot their engagement photos at their soon-to-be wedding venue a year before the big day. We had the property to ourselves. The weather was perfect. We could not have asked for a better day. I was counting down the days to May 18th a full year in advanced, I was so excited. Look at these two. Who could blame me?

So stinkin’ cute right? These two absolutely crushed their session (obviously) so I had no doubt their wedding would be any different.

May 18th, 2019

Arriving at Rust Manor in Leesburg, VA, my second shooter and I noticed every little detail Sarah and Thomas put into their day. From the gifts they gave each other to the dessert tables, everything was unique to them. The weather held out and the ceremony and reception went on without a hitch! One of my favorite parts of the day was the first look Sarah did with her bridesmaids and her father. Only her mom and sister had seen her in her dress, so it was a surprise to everyone. I’m going to just let the pictures speak for themselves, i’m just glad to finally share all these images!

 

 

Now, these two are married, traveling, pursuing their careers, going to grad school and making the most of life with images to always bring them back to this happy, happy day.
